Visiting Saint-Germain-des-Prés
Tour Lenght : 1h30
Métro Saint-Germain-des-Prés
Rate : 200 €
Located on the left bank in the 6th district of Paris, the guided tour I propose is a stroll that will start on the Place Saint Michel. Here we will evoke this unmissable Latin Quarter, the cradle of Parisian culture with its world-renowned schools and universities.
Then we will certainly stroll through the most charming shopping street in Paris where we will be able to observe the French lifestyle with its market stalls and numerous café terraces. We will discover the oldest café in Paris nestled in a hidden passage.
We will then return to the hectic activity of the famous Boulevard Saint-Germain with its cinemas and boutiques and its famous brasseries such as the Café de Flore or the Deux Magots. After visiting one of the oldest churches in Paris that has been magnificently restored, we will reach the Luxembourg Gardens, a true haven of peace in the heart of Paris where we will be able to regain our strength. If your heart desires, we can then continue our walk around the Pantheon, the necropolis where some of the most prestigious French secular personalities such as Victor Hugo, Marie Curie or Simone Veil are buried.
We will then be in the heart of the Latin Quarter between the Sorbonne University and the Lycée Henri IV, famous for the excellence of their students, whom we will surely have the chance to meet in the narrow streets of the Montagne Sainte Geneviève.
Then we will go down from this hillock to the banks of the Seine where we will enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Notre-Dame Cathedral which sadly burned down in April 2019 before the incredulous eyes of the whole world.
